Welcome to the website of Camping du Petit Lion
We have a beautiful campsite in a natural setting of Vendoire, Nr. the villages of Villebois-Lavalette and Gurat amongst rolling hills of Sunflowers, Wheat and Maize in the Dordogne bordering the South Charente, half an hour’s drive south of Angouleme. Lots of pretty villages that you can visit and relax outside with a coffee, or a refreshing drink for those hot summer days or the local pineau and enjoy the atmosphere of the pretty shuttered properties and overflowing hanging baskets of flowers.
We are on the Randonnée Walking route of the Dordogne, perfect countryside for those avid ramblers! Or maybe you just want a stroll amongst the sunflowers, but a route to follow, then this is for you! These routes are also suitable to trek with your horse!
We offer a variety of accommodation as well as our campsite; we have two large gites/holiday homes and a studio gite/holiday home. We also have four Red Cedar Wood Chalets. Soon we shall have bed & breakfast. We have two swimming pools one is a small children’s pool and the other is 14m x 7m. We have a Snack Bar, which you can relax and have a meal and meet other people of different nationalities.
A short walk from our campsite leads you directly to the natural site of the Tourbieres, a collection of natural lakes which you can do many activities including, fishing, walking the nature trails, boating on the lakes, visit the museum or relax with a lunch-time or evening meal at the Tourbieres Restaurant.
We also have a large field that can accommodate a variety of rallies, which we are more than happy to cater for. We are members of the West Sussex Mini Owners Club and would love to see any other motor clubs or mini mad people.
Our pitches for camping have natural bushes and trees, unlike boxed hedges with ample electricity points and water points.
We are members of the Caravan Club and Camping and Caravanning Club and have been avid campers for generations, in fact four generations and enjoy maintaining a standard of camping that we know we would enjoy ourselves.
