We are set in 9.5 acres and are situated on the borders of North Dordogne and South Charente. Le Petit Lion is nestled amongst rolling hills of sunflowers, wheat and maize and is in one of the prettiest areas of South West of France. There are many good restaurants in local villages as well as the larger towns of Angouleme, Riberac and Brantome and of course markets every day of the week, through the summer.

It was a lovely sight to see trotting past our campsite with their dog running alongside!
Situated next to the site is the Tourbieres, a short walk away from us, it has historical interest with a collection of lakes, museum, fishing, boating, nature trails and restaurant, excellent for an evening stroll.

We have our own bar and snacks on site with plenty of activities including, babyfoot, pool table and ping pong, so you can enjoy a drink and chat with other guests from all over europe while the childen are happily playing. Le Petit Lion offers a wide choice of accommodation, the perfect place for a fun filled or relaxing holiday. The site has a natural setting with varying trees including walnut and cherry trees around the emplacements rather than hedges and is set in approx. 9.5 acres, their are two swimming pools, one is 7m x 14m and the other is a childrens pool 3.5m x 3.5m.
The typical pretty french village of Champagne has it's pretty shuttered properties and chateaux, it has a grocery store, boulangerie, bar which you can sit outside and enjoy this fantastic french atmosphere with a glass of the local pineau or cold beer, post office - it's just a short drive away, this is just one of the local typical french villages.
As well as other markets there are local markets at Villebois-Lavalette and Riberac. There is also a brilliant huge market at Rouillac with Hundreds of stalls selling everything from local produce and livestock to grandfather clocks! and is on the 27th of every month.

Perigueux, a very pretty city and a must to visit is the capital of Dordogne approx. 1 hour away and Angouleme the largest city nearby is approx. 30 minutes from site. Aubeterre has a man made beach and their are Caves to explore here as well as at Brantôme these are just a few of the sights to see in our area.
Brantôme is known as as the Venice of the Dordogne, the River Dronne encircling the small town, linked to the outside world by five bridges. Excellent restaurants. Lovely market on Fridays and in the summer always painting exhibitions in the Abbey. A fun place for children, too, with canoe hire.
We have a lake that you can fish privately or if you would like to fish in the nearby lakes, we can organise a licence for you and hire fishing tackle from us if you do not have the room to bring your own. Please book in advance to ensure that we have the licence and tackle for you on arrival.
