Dear Mark & Steph,

What can we say!

The all-too-short time we spent at your fabulous site was totally relaxing, peaceful and a reminder of why we work so hard all year.

Going back to work is no real hardship then if we have memories of the fab time we had staying at your site.

Before we went to France this year, we said that this might be the last year we go to France for a whilte. STaying with you may have changed our minds on that score.

A huge thanks to Hermann for the coffee and the sight of Mark trying to catch the chickens.

Dordogne Rally 2008 by John Morrish:

While sitting around at the Goose Fair Rally

just chilling out and getting pally

Jane said to me will you come and see

an advertisement for a continental rally

In an area of France we have not seen

but somewhere I would like to have been

nearly three quarters of the way to the med

'that's a long way' said Fred

So having note of all the facts

we then discussed it and decided to act

we rang Gordon and Ray

and a ferry fare we did pay

Well the holiday soon came around

and we changed into euros our pounds

then off we did go to Dover

for that was our way over

Calais down to Le Mans was the route

and quickly down the peage we did scoot

it took two days to Villebois-Lavalette

and turned into a holiday I will never forget

After three days of touring around

my car made a horrible sound

open the bonnet amid steam and smoke

there sat an engine looking like a bad joke

So for assistance we phoned and requested

the car be recovered it was suggested

to a garage it went for a stay

to find out what had gone wrong that day

Well after days one and two

a phone call came through

telling me my engine was bust

and in the garage I must trust

The time to leave came and went

I am glad we were not in a tent

to our hosts on the site

in the bar every night

a good time was had by all

Eventually I get the car back

for the journey we did pack

a sad day had finally come

it was time for us to go home

So I say to Mark, Steph, James, Ray and Jean

without so much help where would we have been

and you know we can't thank you enough

because things were starting to look rough

But one thing you can rely on

we want to come back to LE PETIT LION

to have a drink or two and reminisce

about the DAY my car went HISS

(but with a different car!)

" We took a chance on Le Petit Lion, having had it pointed out to us from our daughter who had seen the book 'Cool Camping France'. We found it absolutely idyllic, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It made such a pleasant change from the busier campsites we've usually stayed at. For a small campsite to have such a good pool was a real bonus, and we enjoyed the informality of everything and the peaceful surroundings. We'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wanted something different and sincerely hope the hard work Steph and Mark are doing to develop it pays off".

Hi Steph and Mark

Early mornings and late evenings fitting in Disney and central Paris, a bit of a change of pace from the relaxing, and great, time we had at Le Petit Lion.

Once again many thanks for letting us stay at such a relaxing venue, hope to see you again in the next couple of years.

The warm, friendly welcome cannot be bettered and the facilities are excellent.
